(A photo would be great here. Contact me if you have one)
This was the third night of this run – the previous recording here being the first – and the band had settled in and were in full party mode. The balances seem a little better to me as well, though as mentioned last time, many volume shifts were driven from the stage, so it felt like a bit of a rodeo ride at times. There are quite a few different tunes to the first night as well, which helps broaden the trip back in time.
As mentioned before, this band was largely about the arrangements, and I can only hope that someone, somewhere has copies of these charts – preferably in Mick’s distinctively calligraphic hand – because they more than deserve preservation as well.
