Technical admissions: just to warn you when you hear a very occasional and brief tearing sound, there are a couple of spots of mis-tracking on this one. This sometimes happened when the 1/2″ video tape, under gentle tension as it wound around the large spinning video head during recording, lifted briefly off the head contact and a break in the data writing occurred. I have repaired many such spots in these recordings when this happened on playback, by replaying and re-recording the section, but if the data doesn’t make it to the tape during recording in the first place, as happened here, nothing can be done.

Also, I seem to have been late to the party for the first set (one of the many unforgivable sins for a sound engineer that these exercises trained me to avoid – though not immediately, it seems, because I did it again for the third set!), and so the first track is faded in.
